On August 17th, at around 8pm, Warwick Police responded to a call at the Fairfax Village Apartment Complex located at 145 Essex Rd. On arrival, police located a parked vehicle which had apparently been idling for several hours. At the time, two occupants were located inside the vehicle and were deceased. Those victims are identified as 39 year old Kathleen Frink and her 3 year old son, Ryan, both of Warwick.
An initial investigation has determined that the victims had no known associates or relatives at this particular apartment complex. Investigators spoke with several residents of the complex, and it is believed that the vehicle had been parked at that location since approximately noon on Saturday. Investigators also indicated that someone had heard what sounded like a child crying at around 5pm, however no calls were placed to the police.
While there does not appear to be any foul play or trauma regarding the death of Frink and her young son, police are working closely with the State Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of death and this incident remains under investigation by Warwick detectives.
