To assist in the investigation and prosecution of hate crimes and civil rights violations, the Warwick Police Department has designated a Hate Crimes and Civil Rights Liaison who will serve as a department contact and report to the RI Attorney General’s Office of Civil Rights and the Civil Rights Prosecution Unit. The Hate Crimes and Civil Rights Liaison will work with the Attorney General’s Office to respond effectively and forcefully to crime targeted at minority and marginalized groups. The Hate Crimes and Civil Rights Liaison Officer will streamline information sharing between the Warwick Police Department and the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office to include facilitation of training of Warwick Police Department Officers.
