The Communications Division is staffed by fifteen dedicated dispatchers who are responsible for handling all emergency and non emergency calls that come into the police department.
This is a difficult task as the Warwick Police Department handles approximately 75,000 calls for service per year!
These dispatchers also perform many other tasks including, but not limited to, conducting NCIC and BCI checks for the officers on the road, calling for tow trucks, operating the inter-city radio system and dispatching officers to both emergency and non-emergency calls. Our dispatchers routinely attend training sessions in order to maintain a high level of professionalism. This high level of professionalism is important as they are directly involved in making sure all of our officers stay safe on the road.
