Sex Offender Registration / Notification:
Sex Offender Registration and community notification is the responsibility of one police officer and one civilian employee.
In an effort to conduct address verifications and combat noncompliance with sex offender registration laws, the Warwick Police Department has joined forces with the United States Marshals Service Sex Offender Task Force, commonly referred to as the SOLEMN Task Force (Sex Offender Law Enforcement Multi-disciplinary Network). SOLEMN combines all disciplines involved with sex offender management, including law enforcement, prosecutors, Probation and Parole Officers, and Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) personnel to more effectively manage registered sex offenders in our community.
United States Marshals Service funding continues to be used to support operations that assist in performing sex offender investigations including address verification operations.
To see an up-to-date list of registered sex offenders visit http://www.paroleboard.ri.gov.
The Warwick Police Dept. commonly uses the Warwick School Dept. ConnectED system to perform community notification and/or the mail system. Concerned residents should periodically check the website for additions/deletions since restrictions imposed by state law limit who will be notified of a new sex offender.
