The Warwick Police Department conducts national and local criminal history checks and fingerprinting as required by RI General Laws.
Local criminal history checks not requiring fingerprints are conducted on a walk-in basis at our Records Division window, free of charge, on business days 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This service is for Warwick residents only. These are commonly required to volunteer at schools, coach local sports teams, nonmedical nursing home employment and sometimes for local employment.
Fingerprint cards only, without a criminal history check, is conducted by appointment only on business days 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This service is for Warwick residents only. This is commonly for License to Carry Concealed Firearms applications and public housing applications. Fingerprints are not ink or rolled.
National criminal history checks requiring fingerprinting by RI General Laws are conducted by appointment only. This is open to only Warwick residents or persons seeking employment with Warwick businesses and organizations.
