Captain Ryan Sornberger

OIC - Prosecution Division

Captain Sornberger has been a member of the Warwick Police Department since the year 2000 .  He has previously served in the Uniform Patrol, Community Services, and Professional Standards and Detective Divisions. Captain Sornberger has a Bachelor's Degree from Salve Regina University.

Captain Sornberger is currently the Officer in Charge of the Prosecution Division. 

Captain Daniel DiMaio

OIC - Professional Standards Division

Captain DiMaio is an 13 year veteran of the Warwick Police Department. He graduated from Salve Regina University where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Administration of Justice. He has held positions in the Patrol Division, the Professional Standards Division and most recently the Community Services Division.

Captain DiMaio is currently a pistol, rifle and shotgun instructor for the department. In addition, he has attended numerous schools which certified him a Physical Fitness Specialist, a Taser Instructor and a Less Lethal munitions instructor.

Captain DiMaio has been a member of the Warwick SWAT team since 2013 and now serves as the Team Commander.

Captain DiMaio is currently the Officer in Charge of the Professional Stanards Division. 

Captain Robert Hart

OIC - Community Services Division

Captain Hart is a 13 year veteran of the Warwick Police Department, having previously served for three years as a officer with the Enfield, CT police department. He has held positions in the Patrol Division, the Traffic Unit and Administrative Services Division. The Captain has been assigned to the Traffic Unit a total of 6 years, the past 2 as a supervisor. Captain Hart also serves as the Commander of police departments Marine Unit and Dive Team. Captain Hart has attended numerous schools, to include, traffic accident reconstruction, commercial vehicle enforcement, incident command courses and several public safety diving schools. He is currently a lead instructor at the RIMPA in water rescue and tactical emergency medicine. In addition to his role here in Warwick he is a certified EMT – Cardiac and Chief of the University of Rhode Island Emergency Medical Services Department.

Captain Hart is currently the Officer in Charge of the Community Services Division

Captain James Valkoun

Officer in Charge - First Platoon

Captain Valkoun has been a member of the Warwick Police Department since 1996.  He previously served as the  Uniform Patrol Division AOIC for the 1st and 2nd platoons, and the Administrative Services Division OIC.  Captain Valkoun has also served as a FTO in the patrol division and as a FTO supervisor when he was a patrol sergeant.

Captain Valkoun has a Bachelor of Science Degree from R.I. College and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. Captain Valkoun also served in the U.S. Army.

Captain Valkoun is currently as to the Patrol Division as the Officer in Charge of the First Platoon. 

Captain Charles Boisseau

OIC - Second Platoon

Captain Boisseau is a 24 year veteran of the Warwick Police Department, with over 4 years previous experience as a Correctional Officer with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.  He has held positions in the Patrol Division and the Traffic Division, and has been assigned as a Patrol Supervisor for the Past 12 years. Charles also served as a Combat Medic in the United States Army and its Reserves, deploying multiple times; and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Medical Badge for his actions while deployed to Afghanistan.The Captain has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University and has attended various schools and training, to include, Traffic Accident Reconstruction, EVOC Instructor Course, and First-Line Supervisor training.

Captain Boisseau is assigned to the patrol division as the Officer in Charge of the second platoon
